This is my first experiment at creating a translation of a Korean song to match the original syllables and stresses. I'm always disturbed when a translation doesn't visually match the sounds I'm hearing, so I collected translations to see how much leeway I had, then matched a new translation I created to the Korean sound. Finally put 10 years of 18th century poetry research to good use. "My Love from the Star" tells the story of an alien who has been on earth for 400 years without making an attachment but, just before he must return, he falls for an actress. She doesn't want him to leave but he'll die if he stays, so she has to accept it. He leaves and works at returning for minutes at a time until, finally, he manages to stay for longer and longer times. But she never knows when he'll return or when he'll leave again. Gives a new meaning to "long distance relationship.
