A vid for the 2011 film "Tomboy". I'm just going to quote the vidder's post about this one here.
My beef with the film is that it is touted as a story about a girl who gets caught in a lie and has to stick to it. I'm sorry, that's not the film I watched. Maybe I just saw what I wanted to see, but I believe whole-heartedly that this child saw an opportunity to be the person he truly wanted to be, and he took it. He was discovering himself through this film. You can see the joy in his face when he's in his element and the pain when he's not. The last 10 seconds of the film undo so much of the good it had done, so I wanted to vid the Mickael I see, the relationship with Lisa that brought him to life, the relationships with his family that are so warm, and the rich range of emotions and questioning he goes through on his journey.
