Running a convention
Can I make a con?
Sure can! If you go to https://conline.club/administration/create/ you’ll be able to create YourCon, and shortly after that, YourCon 2020 (or whatever.) You create the Convention, then as many instances of that con under it as you like. Maybe yearly, maybe monthly - there’s no particular limit.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Right now. In the future, there’s 3 main ways it could go:
- Conline gets used once or twice, turns into a ghost town and is removed in about a year’s time, because no one is paying the server costs to keep it online.
- People want it to stick around and make donations, which pay the server costs to keep it online.
- People want it to stick around and have ideas about awesome new features that they’re prepared to get a paid subscription for, which pay the server costs to keep it online.
If it does end up having some kind of payments needed, every effort will be made to make sure there's a way to run conventions for free.
Can I charge attendees a con registration fee?
As long as your con is non-profit/non-commercial, yep (though the site won’t do your payment process for you right now.) Conline doesn’t ask for a percentage or anything, your con setup is between you and your attendees.
